Credit unions rely on NAFCU and Sheshunoff to provide information, education, and assistance in all areas of credit union management. The growing number of complex regulations, and increasing popularity of NAFCU’s Regulatory Compliance Assistance Program, has convinced us that credit unions want more expertise in this area.

To help credit unions meet the demands of increasing regulation, NAFCU has developed a Compliance Certification Program, and they have worked with Sheshunoff to create a special study guide – the Sheshunoff® NAFCU’s Regulatory Compliance Learning Manual.

This study guide is designed to be used with the Sheshunoff® NAFCU’s Compliance Guide for Credit Unions. As a set, they give a credit union’s compliance officer everything he or she needs to:

The Compliance Guide is available on its own and is an excellent comprehensive resource and reference. The Learning Manual is only available with the Compliance Guide or to current users of the Compliance Guide. It makes frequent references to sections of the Compliance Guide for further reading, and helps users focus their attention on the most critical aspects of compliance.

Be sure you really know the key compliance issues.
Compliance is becoming more and more demanding for credit unions. The number of regulations you have to comply with, the number of people watching to see that you comply, and the level of proficiency the examiners will be looking for are all on the rise.

The Sheshunoff NAFCU’s Compliance Guide for Credit Unions is your best tool for setting up an effective compliance program and finding answers to questions. It’s the most comprehensive, detailed, “how to” resource you can find – from setting up a compliance program to implementing specific consumer regulations, you’ll find it all here.

There’s so much information that it can be hard to figure out which topics you need to focus on to satisfy the examiners and pass the tests to become a NAFCU Certified Compliance Officer. So to help you learn what you really need to know, we’ve developed the Sheshunoff NAFCU’s Regulatory Compliance Learning Manual.

Five modules within the manual cover all the main consumer compliance areas:

The manual is designed to work with the Compliance Guide and makes frequent references to specific chapters for further reading. You complete each module right in your office at your own pace. Chapter tests and reviews help to reinforce the material as you go, and ensure that you really understand the details.

This self-paced approach has been proven to be the most efficient and cost-effective way to learn complex subjects like compliance. There are no travel expenses or time lost from work, work flow is not interrupted since you complete the program at your convenience, and you have the materials onhand to refer to later.

As each module is completed, you may request a certification exam from NAFCU. You take the test in your credit union, and return it to NAFCU for grading. A grade of 80 or better earns you a passing grade for that module. When you are certified in all 5 modules, NAFCU will send you a certificate declaring you a NAFCU Certified Compliance Officer.

You may take NAFCU’s tests without using the Learning Manual, of course, but NAFCU recommends this study guide in conjunction with the Compliance Guide to help you earn the best possible score. We also recommend it to ensure that you really know how to keep your credit union in compliance and avoid the pitfalls of the often confusing and complex regulations.

You have up to two years to complete the program, and certification is good for two years. Both the Compliance Guide and the Learning Manual are updated as the compliance rules and techniques change. Your subscription includes a full year of these timely updates, so you can be sure you’re learning the latest rules.

Whether or not you plan to become a NAFCU Certified Compliance Officer, you need to be proficient in the key consumer compliance issues. Call 1-800-456-2340 or click above to order.
