The Bank Protection Act mandates that each bank adopt a security program, that the board of directors ensure that it is effectively implemented, and that the security officer and branch personnel get initial and periodic training. That’s a tall order. Plus, staff need a reliable source of answers to day-to-day security questions.
The Branch Security Reference and Training Manual is designed specifically to make the job easier when it comes to answering your questions and doing the training you’re required to do. You’ll find everything you need to implement the Bank Protection Act mandate to the satisfaction of your board and your examiner, answer any security-related question with authority, and put effective, ongoing training into each branch.
In addition to serving as a complete reference to branch security regulations, different types of criminal activity, and answers to routine security questions, the manual includes a complete training module for your branch staff. Training materials include:
- Provides a sample security training program for your branch personnel.
- Tips to help you select and train a branch instructor, then he or she can use the model program to train other personnel.
- Interactive training sessions reinforce proper practices and procedures with cases, samples, and Q&A sessions.
- A CD so you can make it easy to tailor the materials for your own needs.
- Authoritative branch security reference guide to applicable regulations and all types of criminal activities so your branch staff can easily recognize scams and fraud.
- Guidance to help you properly deal with violent crimes and all the other types of security concerns you face in your branches.
- Gives you ready answers to day-to-day questions about routine issues.
- Use the Lesson Activity Sheets and guides as evidence for your examiners that training and retraining is an ongoing activity.
- A copy of the Employee Security Handbook, customized and always up-to-date with the latest sound security procedures for day-to-day activities and extraordinary events.
