Mecimore is currently a professor of accounting at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and consults to the industry on using accounting data in budgeting and strategic planning, and cost and managerial accounting. He has developed continuing education courses on budgeting, cost management systems, and cost analysis for the Institute of Management Accountants, the AICPA, and for various accounting firms. He is the author of several books and articles on results-oriented budgeting and performance measurements.
