John Dolan is Distinguished Professor of Law at Wayne State University Law School. He is author of the Law of Letters of Credit – Commercial and Standby Credits, a leading treatise on the subject. He is a member of the Board of Editors for the A. S. Pratt publication, Banking Law Journal. He is also Foreign Contributing Editor of the Banking and Finance Law Review. Professor Dolan has lectured nationally for ALI-ABA, the Practicing Law Institute, and the Banking Law Institute. He held the chair of the American Bar Association Letter of Credit Subcommittee and was an unpaid member of the U.S. State Department Advisory Committee on International Documentation. He was also involved in the redrafting of UCC Article 5 and was an Advisor to the American Law Institute Restatement of Suretyship Project.
